ELECTRO TUNE OF THE MONTH: 'Here's the first single from Midfield General's new album. The Club Mix features a big siren and a female vocalist who sounds not unlike Roxanne Shante. D.I.M's mix uses some 'Charlie Says' style rave noises, Boy 8 Bit adds a bouncy bassline while Chicken Lips gives it more of an after-hours vibe.' 4/5

D&B TUNE OF THE MONTH: 'This is an absolute monster with tracks that have been destroying clubs throughout the planet for months. Culture Shock & The Brookes Brothers bring the bouncey funk, Chase & Status go gravel on 'Brazil', and debutante Dutch duo Icicle & Nymfo borrow a leaf out of Phantom Force's book'. 4/5

TRANCE TUNE OF THE MONTH: 'Ben Gold comes of age and then some with this fantastic trancer on Flux Delux, although with engineering work for Judge Jules and a signing to Perfecto, Ben is no stranger to the big time. The original is a big, feelgood tune with a glorious male vocal allowed to unashamedly shine.' 4/5

BREAKS TUNE OF THE MONTH: 'Another great record from Holland, and a taste of whats to come from new album 'Plastic People'. It's true future funk and hip-hop fuelled beats with the vocals of Ben Westbeech and hot remixes from A Skillz, who brings his hip-hop tempo tech-funk to the table.' 4/5

URBAN TUNE OF THE MONTH: 'Fairly obviously inspired by UK garage and featuring some gnarly, grimey basslines, London production hotshots The Count & Sinden team up with Kid Sister, the current rapper of choice anywhere inspired by Shoreditch or neon clothing. A feel-good club track, this will damage bass-boxes nationwide.' 4/5

TECHNO TUNE OF THE MONTH: 'More next-level techno action from Amsterdam, this time from the city's leading underground drum-beater Bart Skills and his District One partner Anton Pieete. 'Handsome' is a no-nonsense cut of jacking, funk-fuelled techno with complimentary stabs and a brisk air of playful nonchalance that belies its layers of underlying raw power'. 4/5

RECOMMENDED HOUSE: 'The short and sweet 'Beach Buggy' from Tiger Stripes sounds rather like he had Jean Michel Jarre on the keyboards - the synths have a definite 80s feel to them, albeit underpinned by a modern groove.' 4/5

RECOMMENDED ELECTRO: 'What's the golden rule for sampling a song with shit lyrics? That's right: drop them. It's only Herve who has the sense to do it here. His remix is a fidgety thumper that opens with repeated male/female samples, dropping a rolling bassline before old-skool pads and horns cause havoc'. 3/5

RECOMMENDED TRANCE: 'Best known as the voice of the huge 'As The Rush Comes' from Motorcycle in '03, New Yorker Jes has worked with Tiesto, Deepsky and Mike Olsen. 'Heaven' comes from her debut album 'Disconnect', and is a serious, heavyweight track, with remixes from Fonzerelli and a bleepy electro cut from R&D. Most fun is the HH In A Daze remix, with energy and a cheeky hardcore flava.' 3/5
